At age 32, my husband and I decided that we wanted a few horses out back. Just something to ride occasionally. We went to a stable to take our first riding lesson and I fell for and bought the first horse I ever rode. By spring, we had a barn built out back and brought 2 Thoroughbreds home. A few months later I saw Sharon Rowe ride a Grand Prix musical kur on Crescendo and I knew what I wanted to do - dressage! In a moment of lunacy, I then bought a fiery two year old warmblood named Wallenberg. Wallenberg turned out to be a handful for a beginner - smart, agile, and a tad temperamental.

Being at Rowes had made all the difference for us. He still outsmarts me on regular basis, but Sharon always has the answer to straightened us out again. I have learned many valuable lessons such as be brave, concentrate harder, never lose your temper, and that dressage is a partnership based on compassionate leadership and trust.

My short term goals are to spend my time with Wallenberg developing a deeper seat and quieter hands and legs. I am looking forward to breaking my 3 year old warmblood gelding this fall with the help of Jim, Sharon and Tracy. My long term goals are to enjoy Wallenberg as long as he is physically able, I'm also looking forward to watching my 3 year old Patrick grow and develop and hopefully dancing towards the upper levels with him someday. Most of all, I hope I am wise enough to occasionally pause and enjoy the journey.
